About ME

I am a worshiper, mommy of  3, and enthusiastic teacher. To put it lightly, I'm kind of a teachaholic. It's really hard for me to turn my teacher brain off. I don't profess to know it all, but I enjoy being a "learn it all". If I have the expectation of my students to be life long learners, I have to hold myself responsible for continuing to learn as well.

My classrooms have always been musical places filled with love, laughter, high expectations and LOTS of learning.  While I appreciate all things cute and swirly, it does not take the place of or take away from the rigor of learning. Cute hooks 'em, but it's the rigor that keeps them engaged and thriving! I hold certifications in  EC-6th grade, K-12 Master Reading (Teacher), ESL and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. This will be my 19th year in education. Wow! Time flies when you're having fun!

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and now, coaching others to do so too! I've been told my rooms have been a little loud, lol! Now that I'm exploring opportunities outside of the classroom, it's a joy to share a love for teaching and learning. Impacting others' classrooms is both and honor and a privilege. The best days are absolutely still those when I get to model a lesson or share a good book with a group of students. 

The best ideas, after all, are those that are shared for the benefit of ALL students to succeed. 

I love what I do and do what I love in order to create a life for my loves. I'm one blessed mama. Brelan, Deja, and DJ are my greatest inspirations and I love them to life! Even though Brelan is off creating a life in the wild blue yonder, she's with us {in our hearts} daily and we can't wait to see her again! Thank goodness for Facetime!
