Are you a Comment-a-holic?

Comment-a-holic

Hello, my name is Tanya Dwyer and I am a "comment~a~holic"!  I love seeing so many fab new ideas and commenting on them, BUT.........

(shhhhh, come in close.....listen)

....there are just a few things about leaving comments that have begun to make me twitch!

1.  The Robo-Verifier!  Lose it.  Turn it off!  Get rid of it! I already wear glasses and if  I see one more of those things, I think I'm going to need a stronger prescription! I had one too, you say?  Why yes, I did! Did...being the key word, because I just turned that sucker off and I whole-heartedly apologize for anyone no longer seeing 20/20 because of it, lol!  You might not have known you have one because its a default setting.

If you're not quite sure how to turn it off check out Jessica's post here.  Your readers will be glad you did.

2.  I didn't know this was a pet peeve of mine until today and I suppose it really isn't a biggie.  I really prefer the pop up box to leave comments.  When they're embedded and there's a lot of comments...it takes a lot of scrolling to add one.  Again, this one isn't a biggie and I just changed my settings too.

3.  Wholy-Moly....I love music just as much as the next guy.  In fact, I'm  usually listening to my own as I blog hop so clicking on a blog that's blaring a playlist sometimes startles me right out of my socks!

We each have our own little pet peeves and way of doing things that make us unique. Link up to share some of your not so favorite blogger habits.  I'm sure reading them will help us to better our blogs to keep readers coming back for more!

Happy hopping!

  3. I agree, I'm not a fan of the music playlists on some blogs.

  4. I may change my comment box to pop up, too. But, if Lisa can tell me how to get threaded comments, I may have to leave it as is. I do agree with you though, that the pop up box is easier. Actually, I think I'll change it now. Thanks for the idea!

  6. Ladies, I've gotten more comments today than I ever have...could it be the removal of the robot? Hahaha! Now I feel like, someone out there is really listening to my loving ramblings! Love you guys!

@Lori...love the way you talked yourself into that decision! It's so comforting to know I'm not the only one...

I'm glad I made the switch and found the box to leave a comment for my commenters too! Great linky idea Jessica! Why yes, I think I am a comment-a-holic AND this may make it worse! :-)

  7. You crack me up! The playlist thing bugs me too. You are enjoying the quiet of your home or maybe a little mellow music of your own while you are surfin' around . . . then . . . BAM!!! I always freak out too :) Glad I found you.

  8. I totally agree with the robot number thingy!! I hate that. I think I need glasses or need to go back to Kindergarten every time I look at it and can't figure out the numbers/letters. I also hate the music. I don't expect to hear it when a blog has one so I am always very surprised b/c I usually have my volume up. I never thought about the pop up comment window. I know I don't have that and I don't think I can if I keep the reply button under the comments. I do like to reply to my comments so I will have to think about that one.

    1. Hey, April! I really like the reply link I see on other's blogs for comments too. I was wondering if I don't have that because of my template? The only time I see it is when I check my blog from my phone.

  11. I hate the robot numbers, too! I don't really care if a robot is commenting on my blog as long as it leaves a nice comment and possibly the address to a new blog to check out.
I hear you on the music! I nearly jump out of my skin when it's late at night and I'm blog hopping. However I always LMAO when it startles my husband awake!

    Love your blog design, too!

Hey-how did you get that little message to pop up about leaving a comment?!? I want one!

    1. Thanks, Sophia. When you go to layout and settings to edit your comments settings, it's the very last choice @ the bottom of the screen. There's a little box....it's been there all this time and today it just stood out and said, "hey, look at me"...lol! Hope that makes sense!
